In his online video A message from Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos to “Free the Media” Teach-In, NYC, January 31 1997, Subcomandante Marcos of the Zapatistas (EZLN) voices his support for independent media. In his text Fifteen Years Ago, Marcos recounts his first journey into the mountains of Southeast Mexico in the Lacandon Jungle of Chiapas. In my video performance Revolutionary and Other Moments (y la Cuarta Guerra Mundial), I narrate in Spanish my experience of going to the Peruvian Andes just one year after Marcos's journey to Chiapas.
